As the 2011-2012 Market Season comes to a close, we thank each and every one of you – our sponsors, vendors, local businesses and patrons who were all instrumental in producing a very successful season. Be sure to visit the Port Washington Winter Farmers’ Market page on Facebook to see the photos from the May Market!
The Port Washington Winter/Spring Farmers’ Market plays an important and valued role in our community. Our task is simple: to support local farmers, to bring fresh and healthy food into our community, to provide an opportunity for small vendors to sell their goods and to create a family-friendly community activity.
The enthusiasm and spirit that PortFish, LTD and First Congregational Church have brought by sponsoring the Winter/Spring Farmers’ Market is part of what makes it a valued community institution. We, as a whole, provided access to farmers and their fresh, healthy food. We hosted workshops for “Sustainable Living” and we offered a diversity of free musical entertainment…all while being a gathering place for our community. Our impact on the local economy is substantial and we are proud of our results this season.
Mark your calendars! The 2012-2013 Port Washington Winter/Spring Farmers’ Market kicks off on November 3, 2012. We look forward to another wonderful season as we bring back all of our same great vendors from last year and welcome the new vendors that will join us though out the season. See you then!
In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to PortFish.org to learn more about sustainable, healthy alternatives to food production – and where to find sources for great local food in and around Ozaukee county!
We wish each of you a safe and happy summer!
