Just in time for the cooler weather, Port Fish Day 2013 on July 20th promises to be a great time with lots of events for everyone!  Music, food, crafts, cars, fireworks – and more! Established in 1964, Port Fish Day was incorporated as a non-stock and not-for-profit Corporation to celebrate Port Washington Fish Day. Port Fish Day, Inc. is organized to present an annual festival in the city of Port Washington, Wisconsin once each year to celebrate with ceremony, entertainment, and festivity it’s citizens, history, business, culture and traditions. AQUAPONICS DEMO

will have a demonstration on aquaponics, near the entrance to the Port Fish Days celebration at 233 E Pier St, Port Washington from 10:00 a.m. to around 4:00 p.m. We will have a mini aquaponics set up, with an aquarium of fish, as well as plants growing on top. We will also be able to answer any questions you may have about aquaponics and sustainable food. If you want to learn even more about aquaponics and aquaculture, you can visit our facility during our open house on Sunday, July 21st.

The Wisconsin Aquaculture Association, along with member fish farms, is celebrating this day with their Annual State Wide Open House on Saturday, July 20, 2013. With the increase in public awareness of their food sources, the fish farmers of Wisconsin are opening their farms to the public, promoting Wisconsin aquaculture and explaining the importance of locally grown, fresh, safe fish. The fish farmers of Wisconsin are working together to encourage people to visit a local fish farm and learn firsthand about aquaculture, become more aware of the role commercial aquaculture plays in the state’s economy, local communities, recreational opportunities and in providing a safe healthy food.
